my thoughts: I can remember saying I would never see Star Trek, that I didn’t like Sci-Fi movies. A buddy of mine offered to take me, I agreed, and became a changed person after seeing it. This movie introduced me to the world of Star Trek, Captain Kirk and Spock.
For someone who may be new to the Trekkie universe, it is hard to understand the inside jokes and one liners. J.J. Abrams made sure to include many pieces of the Original Series to bring in the die-hard fans and make new ones. The movie gives the audience a glimpse of the Enterprise crew right out of Star Fleet Academy and on their first tour of duty. Filled with life or death action sequences and star ship battles, the movie will leave on the edge of your seat. No Star Trek show or movie would be complete without Kirk and/or the Enterprise getting into some sort of trouble. This one is no different.
