movie summary: While on a tour of the White House with his young daughter, a Capitol policeman springs into action to save his child and protect the president from a heavily armed group of paramilitary invaders. (www.imdb.com)

my thoughts: I really enjoyed White House Down because it is packed with action, gun fire, explosions, chase scenes, and interesting plot twists. In the typical race against time storyline, the President (Jamie Foxx) is not captured but is trying to escape through secret rooms and passages. He teams up with security guard Channing Tatum, and the duo will try anything necessary to get outside the destroyed White House to foil the terrorists plans. The movie moves at a fast pace, and the deeper into the story we go, the more we find out the many motives and other government officials behind this hostile take over.

There are two major differences between both White House attack movies. Olympus Has Fallen features a captured President, who is held hostage by international terrorists. In White House Down, the President escapes from his kidnappers and is on the run with a gun. The terrorists in this movie actually work for the US Government and are turning rogue. Both movies follow similar plots with the focus being on one agent trying to save the world.
