my thoughts: Black Hawk Down is based on a real life story of a military operation gone bad. Many soldiers are injured and killed, but this movie focused on the survivors. Time is of the essence for these US Rangers who are trapped, faced with death, and have to protect themselves while waiting for reinforcements. Running low on ammunition, and losing comrades left and right, the deployed units must survive any way possible. Just like the scenes in Saving Private Ryan, the action sequences are amazing and place you right in the middle of the battle. The raw emotion depicted in this film doesn’t even scratch the surface of what these soldiers really went through.
Although it didn’t win movie of the year, this is a must see.
