movie summary: A woman framed for her husband’s murder suspects he is still alive; as she has already been tried for the crime, she can’t be re-prosecuted if she finds and kills him. (

my thoughts: Double Jeopardy is about a women being framed for her husband’s murder and her efforts to prove her innocence. According to the law, once someone have been charged for a crime, they can’t be charged for the same crime again. Once in prison, Libby (Ashley Judd) finds out her husband may still be alive. Her best friend Angie has custody of her son, and may be hiding the truth. After a few months, both Angie and her son disappear. Upon receiving parole, Libby meets Travis (Tommy Lee Jones) who is a washed up parole officer. Determined to find the truth about the murder and where her son is, Libby jumps parole and sends Travis on a nation wide chase. The pair end up in Louisiana where they might have found what they were looking for.

Bruce Greenwood is great as the shady husband, while Judd plays the determined women and protective mom very well.

my star rating: 7 out 10
