my thoughts: Kick-Ass 2 is flat-out one of the most violent movies out there. The body count is really high in this film, as the characters have found new unique ways of killing people. The plot is hard to describe, because it’s real simple (good vs. evil) and complicated (way to many sub plots) at the same time. Kick-Ass (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is part of a group of good guy super heroes, while Red Mist has turned into a rogue bad superhero who forms an evil army. Each new character in their respective armies bring their own sub plots into the main story which makes it seem all jammed together. The final battle sequence between the two armies, which was built up all movie, was not exciting at all. Although the movie is supposed to be about two feuding armies, the majority of what the story follows is Hit Girl (Chloe Grace Moretz) and her struggles to live a normal life. She brings a lot humor to the story, but even she can’t save this movie. There were many parts that you can’t wait for the movie to end and others you think you are watching a violent death clip from the Saw movies.

I looked forward to this movie for a long time, and left the theatre really disappointed. I may not get my hopes up for Kick-Ass 3, which you know will be along sometime soon.

my star rating: 4 out 10
