my thoughts: Breaking Dawn Part 2 is the finale in the Twilight Series and brings the saga to a close on a very high note.
Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) dies giving birth to a daughter at the end of the Breaking Dawn Part 1. Her vampire husband Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) was able bite her and his venom slowly brough her back to life… as a vampire. Once Bella wakes up, she meets Renesmee for the first time. The happy moment is quickly ruined when she learns that Jacob (Taylor Launter) has imprinted on her daughter and beats him up.
After spending a few days alone with Edward to adjust to life as a vampire, Bella has to meet her father for the first time. Charlie (Billy Burke) notices a difference in his daughter, but is told he can only know what she allows him to know. Bella’s dad plays a great grand father to Renesmee, who is growing very rapidly and within a few months looks like she is seven years old. Edward’s cousin Irina (Maggie Grace) thinks the couple have created an immortal child and reports Renesmee to the Volturi, who think that one of the most sacred vampire laws has been broken.
The Cullens get word that the Volturi are coming to kill Renesmee, so Bella, Edward, Jacob, the Quileute wolf pack, and the Cullen family travel around the world looking for witnesses. Alice (Ashley Greene) and Jasper (Jackson Rathborne) leave the family, but warn that the Volturi will come after the first snow fall. Edward and Bella are able to get 17 witnesses and prepare for the upcoming show down. The Volturi show up in Forks just when Alice’s vision said. They are surprised the Cullens have gathered so many witnesses to stand against them. They ask a lot of questions about Renesmee’s half-human half-vampire life. Ashley and Jasper show up to bring one more witness, but it may be too late. The Volturi have come to kill the Cullens and a battle breaks out where no one is guaranteed to survive.
Breaking Dawn Part 2 is the BEST movie of the Twilight Saga. Although it lacks an overall good storyline, it has many outstanding parts. The film features more laugh out loud moments than any of the previous movies thanks to the interaction between the many new vampires. The battle scene is so intense, that you will need to pick your jaw up off the ground when it’s over and when we get our last glimpse of Bella and Edward in the meadow, we are given a flashback of their relationship and how much they mean to each other. The credits start to roll with Christina Perri’s “A Thousand Years” and each major character in the series gets mentioned in the credits. The finale will send you home with tears in their eyes. If you love the series as much as I do, this movie will always have a place in your heart, forever.
