movie summary: As a string of mysterious killings grips Seattle, Bella, whose high school graduation is fast approaching, is forced to choose between her love for vampire Edward and her friendship with werewolf Jacob. (

my thoughts: The third movie in the Twilight franchise is Eclipse. At this point of the series, Bella (Kristen Stewart) is about to graduate from high school and has found herself in the middle of a love triangle between a vampire and werewolf. Edward (Robert Pattinson) has returned to her side, but after the events in New Moon, must turn Bella into a vampire sometime in the near future or she will be killed. Jacob (Taylor Launter) meanwhile still confesses his love for Bella and how he’d be the best choice for her. He forces a kiss on her, and she breaks her wrist punching him in the face. It was a tense moment for the pair, but it plays a more siginificant role later in the film.

A sub plot of the first three movies is a nomad vampire’s hunt for Bella. Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) has been waiting for the right moment to kill Bella to seek revenge on Edward for killing her boyfriend James in Twilight. Victoria has been in Seattle creating an army of new-born vampires to attack the Cullen clan back in Forks.

Edward and Jacob spend most of the movie baby sitting Bella and protecting her from any possible threat from Victoria. When the new-born army reaches Forks, the trio are far away in the mountains away from the fighting. Jacob tells Bella he wants to fight, but out of fear of losing him, she asks him to kiss her. Their kiss was one of the most passionate kisses ever. The moment meant different things to Jacob and Bella, but the emotions were there and made it that more powerful.

Victoria and her army are defeated while Jacob gets seriously injured. In one last attempt to win Bella’s heart he bears his soul to her. She reminds him again that Edward was her first choice, he always has been, and she is gonna marry him.

There are a lot of people who think there was no need for Eclipse, that it was just a movie to take more money from people who loved the series. It had one of the best scores of the series, and featured some of the best passionate scenes. Eclipse does have it place within the five movies, it may be number one to some, and five for others.
