movie summary: A teenage girl risks everything when she falls in love with a vampire. (www.imdb.com)
my thoughts: I do have a soft spot for chick flicks, but I never heard of Twilight until a friend of mine told me that I should check it out. This movie and the series turned out to be a perfect match.
Kristen Stewart plays Bella Swan, the typical shy and clumsy teenage girl, who moves from Phoenix to live with her dad in the small town of Forks, Washington. During her first few days, she gains the attention of the school’s most handsome guy, Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson). Bella doesn’t know it right off, but Edward and his family are vampires. Edward warns that they shouldn’t be friends, but grows very protective while saving her life on many occasions. Bella tries to figure out why Edward doesn’t act like a regular person, but has a hard time confronting him about it. Finally she gets her moment to be alone with him and she tells him that she knows that he’s a vampire and she’s not afraid. Much to the surprise of everybody in school, the pair slowly bond and become a couple. Their fairy tale romance turns into a nightmare when the Cullen clan and Bella run into some nomad vampires passing through the territory. One of them, James, realizes Bella is human and sets out to kill her. Edward and his family now need to do everything to protect her.
This is a sappy unrealistic teenage love story between a human and a vampire, but I fell in love with the plot and Kristen Stewart. Bella is crazy for falling in love with a vampire who can read anybody’s thoughts, but her undying committment to this love is what is so appealing to me. She’s willing to risk her life to be with him and he’s willing to do whatever it takes to protect her. These books or movies will not be for everyone, but I love them for what they are!
