movie summary: Freddie Harris and Nora Winston are reality programmers at DangerTainment, and are planning to send a group of 6 thrill-seeking teenagers into the childhood home of Myers. Cameras are placed all over the house and no one can get out of the house… and then Michael arrives home! (www.imdb.com)
my thoughts: For 20 years Michael Myers roamed the streets of Haddonfield on a mission to kill everyone in his family and anyone who gets in his way. After searching for his long-lost sister Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), Michael finally dies when she chops his head off. The nightmare was finally over………………until it was discovered that Michael switched outfits with a paramedic and was not the man who Laurie killed.
Laurie is committed to a mental hospital after all the stress, where Michael finally kills her by throwing off the roof. His life long mission is now complete, so he returns to home, where he is not alone.
Freddy Harris (Busta Rhymes) has decided to host a reality webcam series featuring college kids who will stay overnight in the Myers house on Halloween.
Michael comes home and starts killing people in the house one by one. The survivors think everything is part of the show until they end dead too. One girl, Sara Moyer (Bianca Kajlich) tries her best to hide and ask for help with her camera but anyone watching think she’s a great actress. Finally people realise that Michael is really killing people and call for help.
Freddy returns to the house and takes on Michael one on one. They battle through out the house and end up in the garage, where Michael gets electrocuted and is later found dead in the rubble after the garage burns to the ground.
Halloween Resurrection is probably the worse movie in the whole original eight part franchise. In an attempt to reach modern audiences, the writers made it reality and Internet friendly. Lets be honest, Michael Myers doesn’t belong on reality TV or on the Internet. Once again the writers have ignored every storyline from any of the other movies. This was just a stand alone movie that happened to feature Michael Myers. A disappointment for the franchise and horror fans.
my star rating: 2 out 10
Pretty dumb, but I will admit I have a bit of nostalgic memories with this one as it was one of the first R-rated movies I ever saw in theaters. The thought of Trya Banks being hacked to death still plagues me to this day. Nice review.
