Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015)

shaunthesheepWhat did I like?

Shaun the Sheep Movie was just 85 minutes of pure fun and joy. There was no talking at all and the great thing about this story is there wasn’t a need for it. The songs and sheep mannerisms were so funny that you didn’t notice the lack of voice overs.

What didn’t I like?

There wasn’t anything I disliked about the movie, even with its predictable ending. Having said that though I can understand why some parents and kids find this type of storytelling to be boring. We have become spoiled with CGI movies and computer animated features that watching a stop-motion movie for once was refreshing.

Was Shaun the Sheep Movie a good story?

The actual story behind the movie is very funny and easy to figure out, but it’s the characters that really bring it to life. Whether it’s the farmer’s dog, the really smart sheep’s, the not so smart ones, or the dogs in the animal capture center, there’s really a laugh for everyone around every corner.

Notable Performances?

Please forgive me for saying this but there are no real stand out performances in the movies itself and all the credit must go to the writers, directors, and creators of such a hilarious group of animals.

Would I recommend it?

Despite what some people are saying about the movie, Shaun the Sheep is a must watch for kids and adults who loved the show. Some people just need to get over the fact there’s no voice overs in this film because famous people are always used to sell animated movies. This story is the rare one that doesn’t need to be sold to public by name recognition, but instead by the characters themselves. My advice is do yourself a favour and watch this great film at some point, it is worth it. Trust me Shaun the Sheep is better than Fantastic 4 and a bunch of other crappy movies that have been released recently.
