My expectations were really high for this film and I left really disappointed. Now having said that, there is a major difference between expectations and reality. In reality this was actually a fantastic movie, despite the very cliché ending. Hailee Steinfield was amazing as she stumbled through life and coped with her issues. Woody Harrelson was perfect with his dry humour and sarcastic tone. I wanted a comedy movie, instead got a really powerful drama that made Ana cry and almost brought me to tears. Edge of Seventeen is still a must watch based solely on performances of the leads.
