Contraband is a tangled web of predictable drug related incidents, problems, and resolutions. The story plays out like some pity soap opera, because that’s what happens when people trust idiots to get the job done right the first time. The characters and their clever drug smuggling ways are the only fun part of this film, which is the only reason I watch it from time to time. I feel with a much deeper story, this could have been the ultimate drug smuggling movie, not a cheap imitation of how dark that world really is.
