Labeled as a western, Frontera was on my watch list because it focuses on a murder along the US/Mexico border and starred Ed Harris and Michael Pena. Sadly this movie was a complete bust and in no way shape or form should be called a “western”. Just because the setting is the deserts of Arizona and people wear cowboy hats doesn’t mean it is a western. This movie is all about immigration, the darkest side of immigration. The law is always flawed for illegals and this could be the poster film for how messed up the southern borders of America really are. (review contributed for Genre Grandeur on movierob.wordpress.com)
