The Wave reminds us of the past and the possible disasters of the future. This was my first Norwegian film and I didn’t mind reading the subtitles while watching the action unfold. It reminded me a bit of Dante’s Peak, because someone knew and felt the wave was coming, but no one listened until it was too late. I thought the special effects were solid and I felt drawn into the story by the performances, which Norway nominated for an academy award as best foreign film. The story kinda lost me with a lot sequences under water. It really slowed down the pace of a rather engaging, heart wrenching, and entertaining movie.
