My Cousin Rachel was a rather lackluster affair that was confusing and tough to stay invested in. Rachel Weisz may have been a great selection for the lead role, based on her abilities to be mysterious and beautiful at the same time, but this isn’t one of her better roles to date. Love in that day and age was a very powerful thing. It made and/or broke families and forged empires. Here in the matter of small estates and fortunes, love was powerful enough to play tricks on the mind and heart. It seemed no one really won in the end, which turned out to be different then the book, so I kinda ask myself what was the benefit of watching this movie, since I didn’t really take anything away from it.
