Seven years between sequels can be a death of the franchise. That would be the case here with Beverly Hills Cop III. Without a big crunk of the main cast returning, the people who stayed were surrounded with some less than superior talent and some lame bad guys. The only amusing part of the story here is how the crimes originate from a major theme park, so you can only imagine the kind of trouble Axel Foley can find himself in. Anyone who is a fan of the series or have watched the other two, can see why this was the last movie. It seems they ran out of ideas and reasons for Axel to return to Beverly Hills, which is a shame on so many different levels. There is such a funny dark side to all these movies, that with the exception of the Bad Boys movies, no one has ever come close to matching this particular style.
