It only took until August 2017 to finally watch The Sandlot…and now I really wonder what all the fuss was about. The Sandlot is that coming of age tail that probably would have worked in the 1980’s but doesn’t really sit well with me for a movie released in 1993. I liked the historical references in the movie more than actual story of friends being friends and rescuing an autographed baseball. The other aspect that I can see a lot of people enjoying is the larger than life story about an innocent dog. A little dramatic and over the top, The Sandlot can really sum up everyone’s childhood. 5/10
