Rookie of the Year (1993)

Rookie of the Year is very unrealistic, yet really comical. When someone gets injured it seems impossible to think they would become a better athlete, but that is exactly what happens to Henry Rowengartner, the worse little league player who turns into a starting pitcher for the Chicago Cubs. The story is fun and works because the characters are all kids at heart. Fun and games is a great way for these professionals to keep loose when the pressure mounts. What started out as an attraction and a mockery of the game actually turned out to be a franchise changing move in a typical mid 90’s sports comedies focused on kids. 6/10
