Mr. 3000 (2004)

I don’t think anyone in their wildest dreams could have pictured Bernie Mac playing Major League Baseball. In Mr. 3000 the comedy puts down the mic stand and picks up a baseball en route to a Hall of Fame career, that is until he finds out all 3000 of his hits don’t count. Mid aged and completely out of shape, Stan Ross will make a comeback to reclaim his glory. What makes this a comedy is how big Ross’ ego is and how the game has changed. Ultimately this film goes full circle with the main character undergoing a transformation from superstar to humble man. It had been a while since I watched this one and kinda felt the same way I did when I watched it ages ago, a decent comedy that isn’t worth owning, but can serve as something to watch in the background. 5/10
