I’m not one to rain down on classic films, but I just didn’t like the original Bad News Bears from 1976. It is hard for me to pinpoint exactly what I didn’t like, whether it was the cast, the setting of the late 70’s, or just the quality of the story. Not to take anything away from this crazy rags to riches story, because this was definitely a trail blazing idea for the time period. Raunchy comedies have always been around which is what makes this baseball movie a classic, at no point before had kids been subjected to such torment during a little league season. In the end this movie has a realistic ending which is rare for a sports movie, but then again this really is your ordinary kind of movie. 4/10
