The Mountain Between Us was spectacular for a bit, a little lame at other times, and fell flat at the very end. The plane crash and aftermath are pretty intense. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking, and if it wasn’t for being stuck there and risking their life, it would haven been really beautiful. The chemistry between our two leads isn’t there at the beginning and is extremely awkward at the end, but finds just the perfect combination in the middle. You are on the edge of your seat while they make their way into the wilderness with no sense of direction. Their struggle to survive takes many twists and turns, so be prepared for the unexpected. The movie doesn’t feel like a drag until they try to rebuild their lives and deal with the adjustments of being rescued. Some of you will dislike the ending and how it kinda tarnishes the rest of movie, while some of you will be happy with the way things turned out. 5/10
Your opening line says it all and we agree totally about the rating. Its an Alpine soap opera called out by the dog.
