Jigsaw (2017)

Jigsaw is the type of movie that could be studied in film classes for years to come. I can’t think of a movie off the top of my head that is so misleading, that I was literally more shocked at this ending then I was with the very first Saw. Everything you think you know about John Krammer, Jigsaw, and the endless blood baths that he created, you are right and you are wrong. The eighth installment of the franchise has new and unique traps, as well as many opportunities for the victims to save themselves. It does suck that after Jigsaw died, Lieutenant Mark Hoffman took the reigns, only to now have someone take over the reigns yet again. There’s a very interesting and intriguing connection between the guys who create the games, but one to begs to question, why was this never brought up in the last four movies. That lack of connection aside, Jigsaw really returns to the heart of the franchise, those who are in the game have personal connections to John Krammer and no matter they say, they have all made bad decisions they have to pay for. 8/10
