I knew from the original release date that I was never going to be a fan of The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. Well after finally sitting through the film, I was right. I ended up really disliking this movie. The story is so slow and boring that the ending pissed me off more than anything. Parents usually turn a blind eye to their kids activities, but at what point during their seclusion in the middle of no where, would they have figured out what their young son Bruno (Asa Butterfield) was up to. It is not because of the performances or the subject matter, I just couldn’t get into this story. When the two boys get caught with some food and one of them lies, I just about lost it. The ending was stupid in my opinion. I get that the ending was supposed to leave an impact on your heart, I just couldn’t believe how innocent and naive these kids actually were. Different time, different place, but I didn’t fall for it. 4/10
