I have never seen Eragon before, I also didn’t know this was based on a book series that never had a chance to be adapted to film after this one got released. What I ultimately took away from the film was who wrote How to Train Your Dragon saw this in 2006 and said, hey I have an idea for animated movie. The girlfriend enjoys this movie and after finally watching it, I didn’t feel the same. The relationship between a boy and his dragon is really cute, but I’ve already been spoiled by Toothless and Hiccup. There is a great cast here which included Jeremy Irons, John Malkovich, Sienna Guillory, and Rachel Weisz, that the story really didn’t love up to the hype. I doubt that 11 years later this story could continue with the same cast, but if they ever gave this book series an opportunity to start again, maybe they could get somewhere else with it. 4/10
Ten Stars or Less 
Ugh….I was so disappointed with this movie. It had the potential to be really great, but seemed cheap and didn’t get catch on for a follow-up. Shame.
Heard it was based on a book series…obviously the lackluster first installment killed the potential for a bright future. Who knows what could have been.
