God may not be dead, but this franchise really need to taken out to the pasture and put down. I have never seen God is Not Dead or the sequel, but if they are as terrible as this film, then I am not missing anything and neither are you. I mentioned it before because I don’t want any bad karma for rating religious movies so bad, but if the purpose of these movies is draw people back to church, these people are failing miserably. Whether you are a firm believer or curious about religion, God’s Not Dead will do nothing to peak your interest or feed your hunger for God. I could be raked over the coals for this, but according to IMDb this third instalment currently sits at 2.7/10 and 15% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, so I am not the only one who dreaded the two hours this movie took of my afternoon. It may be Easter weekend and some of you may be looking for something to watch with the family, trust me when I say this isn’t it. 1/10
These movies tend to be too dramatically lightweight and formulaic. Of the faith-based films out now I much prefer “Paul, Apostle of Christ”.
