Friday the 13th was a hit with audiences. They loved the surprise ending, whether it was the shocking reveal of the film’s killer, or the fact the antagonist Jason Voorhees was alive the whole time. As you will come to learn later, I love other installments of the Friday the 13th franchise, but Part II really opened the door for the franchise and the future movies. There was just something to get excited about with this group of councilors who return to Camp Crystal Lake in hopes of doing great things for kids. About a hundred people will make the same mistake, some you will care about and some you won’t. This group just had some chemistry which made for an interesting story. Through a series of unfortunate events, Jason is there to kill them off one by one and start a yearly tradition. Although no one gets a true back story and sex is the only thing on their mind, I enjoy this group and hated watching them die. The ending became a staple of future movies, just when you think you did whatever you could to end his life, he was always just taking a break until the next time. 7/10
