Some of you will be disappointed in me because I went into Sgt. Stubby with little to no knowledge that this animated movie is based on a true story. If you don’t believe me, just google it. Stubby was a dog that ended up serving in World War I and is the most decorated dog in American military history. I literally just thought this was a fictional animated movie about a dog. What caught me more off guard was how amazing this movie was. The animation is great, the story could make you cry, and during the credits you get to see who Sgt. Stubby was in real life. This movie will be enjoyed by everyone, whether you bring the kids or your great-grandfather, there is an amazing message here about friendship, family, and seeing the light in the darkness. You may think I’m crazy, but Sgt. Stubby is a movie is worth watching and owning. I can’t think of another animated movie that was all fun and games, yet had an amazing realistic story behind it. If you love dogs, this movie will be for you. If you love war history, this movie would also be for you. If you just like movies that entertain you, than Sgt. Stubby will check all the boxes. 8/10
