I have never seen Super Troopers and although I am from New Hampshire and these troopers are from Vermont, I never found myself drawn to watch the cult classic from 2001. In 2018 the world decided what was old is new again, so every TV show from decades ago is getting a reboot and movies that never needed a sequel is now getting blockbuster releases. At least with Super Troopers 2, the marketing department went out of their way to make as noise as possible by releasing the movie on April 20, 4/20 for those who didn’t catch that. We went to see it on Friday, and were told that theater was aired out because people were smoking pot in there and that the eight o’clock show was completely sold out. A certain part of the population will love this movie and barrel over laughing. I chuckled because of the American stereotype jokes and the Canadian lifestyle jokes were funny. Most were a miss, but there are a few hits in there. The overall story is terrible, the acting is really bad, but these guys needed something to do. If you like Cheech and Chong, Monty Python, and other movies that may be more enjoyable while high, then Super Troopers is for you. If what I just described is not your cup of tea, then stay far away from this one, even if you want a good laugh. 1/10
