Teen Titans Go! To the Movies (2018)

Before I get dragged through the mud for saying this, hear me alright. Teen Titans Go! To the Movies is not the worse animated movie you can sit through this year. I actually loved the animation and the pop culture jokes. They were littered throughout the entire movie and the writers didn’t hold back on ripping apart the major superheroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman. Even though this is a DC comics movie, featuring all their heavyweights, Stan Lee has several cameos in the movie that will add to the laughs.

You will recognize a bunch of the voice cast which included Will Arnett, Kristen Bell, Michael Bolton, and Nicholas Cage. The film isn’t about these guys, it’s about the Teen Titans: Robin (Scott Menville), Cyborg (Khary Payton), Raven (Tara Strong), Starfire (Hynden Walch).

Yes, there will be moments in the film you wish you could bury your head in your jacket because you won’t believe what you are watching. The song and dance routines were bad, but this film was made to entertain the kids not adults. The references are there for adult amusement and the constant superhero clichés are a major part of what makes the Teen Titans fun.

This movie had a short run at the theatre so if you missed it wait for it to pop on Netflix. You’d save a lot of money on theatre popcorn and if you have something else to do, that may be a good time to get it done while the kids watch TV. 4/10

    1. I appreciated the humour more than most adults in the theatre. I wouldn’t watch the TV show is based on, but this wasn’t the worse movie I’ve seen.
