I have never seen the other Hellboy movies or read the comics. Quite honestly, I don’t think I am missing anything at all. After all these years and not much fan request for another movie, here comes Hellboy again in 2019.
To sum up, this amped up CGI monster movie was loud, obnoxious, trashy, and pointless, jammed pack with some lame effects. Also if you love the legend of King Arthur, don’t go watch this movie because it literally pisses all over his legacy.
People asked me why I even bothered to watch the movie because it was so bad. I went because I wanted to see how bad. It didn’t disappoint in that regard. Sure, there are thousands of other terrible movies and even this one wasn’t the worse of the worse, but it right up there and could contain for the title in 2019.
Even when I trash a movie, I always feel bad for the hundreds of people who acted in the film and those who wrote it or produced it. People get involved in these projects because they believe in the material and give it their best shot to entertain. Personally, I would have loved to have been in the production meetings to see what they were thinking. Despite everyone’s best interests and intentions, the final product was truly a disaster and isn’t worth your time or money. 1/10
