I got to admit, I am not the world’s biggest Mindy Kaling fan. I went to see this for Emma Thomson, who I am also not a huge fan of. Amazingly these two made for a good on-screen pair thanks to their contrasting personalities. The overall story is pretty cookie cutter, there was really no way to mess it up. The drama is there, the huge break up happens on cue, and racial/sexual tension is there for many of the characters. Definitely not Earth-shattering or groundbreaking, Late Night is just something to watch to keep you entertained thanks to other’s misfortunes and successes.
