Movies based on musicians and their music has been a new norm. There have been so many better movies than Yesterday, but the story does introduce a new generation to the importance of The Beatles (in case they didn’t know). I’ve never been a huge fan of their music, I also don’t like Ed Sheeran and Kate McKinnon, so I went to watch Lily James get her heart broken and Himesh Patel’s big film debut. This is an interesting fantasy story, that has its heart in the right place but comes up short overall. It is tough to blend something so iconic into today’s society, that people can come to appreciate, yet it is a barrel of laughs to see this failing musician try his best.
