The Lighthouse taught me two things. One, I will probably never watch another Robert Eggers movie again. Two, this movie was even worse then I could imagine.
I was intrigued to see how crazy this movie was. Among the many things, I wanted to know why it was filmed in black and white. Instead, I learnt absolutely nothing, and none of my other questions got answers.
The movie dragged on forever and made little to no sense. The format didn’t aid the storytelling or performances in any way, either.
I know some of you adore this movie. I hated almost every second of it. I think Eggers’ other film The Witch is one of the worse films of all-time. The Lighthouse is in the same category. Pure garbage. 1/10
