This may be the part of the reviews where you think I have gone crazy.
To my recognition, I had never watched Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines until last week. Since I couldn’t recall anything about the movie, I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish.
I don’t even know where to begin or end, and I may miss some highlights, but I loved this movie. It will come in second to Judgement Day as my favourite film of the franchise.
The bad guy, T-X, played by Kristanna Loken, was brilliant. She went blow for blow with the Terminator, who was played Arnold Schwarzenegger yet again.
The car chase was one of the best sequences I’ve ever seen shot on film. I loved how they incorporated a construction crane in the pursuit and the destruction it caused. I couldn’t help but laugh as the chaos raged across city streets. Also, there’s another car pursuit, this time, a hearse is involved. How they come up with such impressive action sequences is beyond my comprehension. Sometimes when you think you’ve seen it all, they throw something new at you.
I will admit I wasn’t a massive fan of this particular version of John Connor (Nick Stahl), but I liked how the writers showed us how he survived Judgement Day and made it into the future to fight Skynet. 8/10
