If you know me, you would probably know that Bad Boys II is one of my favourite movies of all-time. If I could take 10-15 movies with me on a desert island, BBII would be one of them.
I was over the moon when I heard Bad Boys was coming back. I waited with anticipation for opening weekend, only to leave really disappointed with the third installment.
What made one and two so extraordinary was not there in For Life. The jokes were centred around age and retirement. The action was not over the top like it used to be. The way the story played out and set up a future installment was seriously not needed. The path the main characters find themselves on is not one I would have thought of and/or ever pursued.
Of course, I will wait for Part IV, which has already been announced. I know fans keep flocking to see For Life since it continues to reign supreme at the Box Office. As a massive fan of the franchise, I was disappointed with many aspects of this film and the future. Ultimately, poor writing decisions killed all the excitement I once had for a sequel we probably didn’t need. 4/10
