Stuck in Love had been on my IMDb watchlist for some time. I honestly couldn’t tell you the reason, except maybe because Lily Collins was one of the leads. It didn’t even dawn on me that Greg Kinnear is also in it, along with Jennifer Connelly and Logan Lerman. I don’t know about you, but I’d watch almost anything with those four in the cast.
My wife suggested we watch it on Netflix because it kept popping up as something we’d be interested in. I am so glad we watched it because a few days after, I am still thinking about it.
This movie moved me, there was even one scene I almost cried. I loved the characters, the struggles, and the way they dealt with love. There were so many different aspects of love depicted throughout the story. Some hated it, some embraced it, some waited for it, while others moved one from it, but in the end, they all suffered heartbreak because of it.
I thought that Collins, Kinnear, Connelly, Lerman, and Nat Wolff gave great performances. They made you feel that their characters were just ordinary people with the same issues most of us have experienced at one time or another. I liked how writing and being an author was a major subplot to the story because it was a part of who they all were.
The story digs deep into love and doesn’t shy away from the good and bad parts while staying true to the belief that love can conquer all. That is If you leave yourself open to it.
I can’t believe it took me so long to view Stuck In Love. Now that I have, I can say that Collins has probably secured herself a spot on my favourite actress list. I would never be opposed to watching this movie again. 8/10
